The Embassy of Pakistan held a flag hoisting ceremony to celebrate the 75th Independence Day of Pakistan. The Pakistani community in Denmark participated in the event in large numbers. Following the flag hoisting, messages of the President of Pakistan and the Prime Minister of Pakistan were read out by the Deputy Head of Mission and the Ambassador.
In his remarks on the occasion the Ambassador noted the importance of the event for reminding the future generations about the purpose of the creation of Pakistan and the efforts and the sacrifices made by the founders for its creation. He outlined the measures taken by the Embassy for improving consular services for the community.
The Ambassador underscored the importance of building stronger links between the Embassy and the youth of the community, who are the future. In this regard, the Embassy was organizing a number of activities, including the photographic exhibition on the Independence Movement of Pakistan being held from 31 July to 29 August 2021 and a badminton tournament being held on 21st August 2021. He called on the youth to connect with the Embassy especially for promoting Pakistan’s economic agenda.
The Ambassador also spoke about the situation in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and underscored Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the people of IIOJK until they achieve their right to self-determination. In this regard he praised the efforts of the Pakistani and Kashmiri diaspora for highlighting the issue in Denmark.
The Ambassador also apprised the community about efforts in the social media to malign Pakistan. He asked them to be cautious about these efforts and respond appropriately to such negative propaganda.
Children from the community sang national songs and made speeches about the Pakistan movement. The participants also viewed the photographic exhibition on the Independence Movement of Pakistan and appreciated it. The Ambassador planted a tree in the Embassy garden to mark the occasion.
