The Embassy of Pakistan is organizing a series of Tech Talks to showcase the potential of the IT Sector of Pakistan. In this regard our first Tech Talk would be delivered on AI Revolutionizing Science, Knowledge Discovery, and Regulatory Compliance by Mr. Muhammad Tariq, Chief Data Scientist at Visionet on Wednesday, 23 June – 1500 to 1630 CET.

The convergence of technology, digitalization, additive manufacturing, machine learning, and AI continue to have a huge impact on the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries. The Life Science industry is poised to deliver breakthrough innovations at a rate, and cost, never thought possible.

Clinical trials heavily use subjective scoring methods for disease severity measurements. AI can help devise new consistent and objective disease severity measures. These novel measures and scores are alternatively extracted from wearable sensor data of patients instead of the opinion of clinicians. AI and ML algorithms can extract consistent patient observation from sensors while ignoring the inter-patient variabilities in sensor data. 

On the other side, pharma operations need AI to forecast drug demand.  Clinical test data and rapidly published medical research literature naturally calls for Deep Neural Nets based information classification, extraction, and summarization.
